Tina joined the BBBSRI team in 2016, and was responsible for community development and fundraising. Tina facilitated 7 major agency fundraisers while securing additional grant funding for programs. Tina’s desire to work more directly with youth and families in the community led her to a position as Site-Based Program Manager, where she directly oversaw several School Based Mentoring programs and the agency’s Beyond School Walls program. Tina was instrumental in starting new program partnerships, including one with Hasbro Toy Company and the Potter Burns School in Pawtucket. Under Tina’s leadership, the program doubled after its pilot year. Within a year in this role, Tina also began overseeing the agency’s enrollment and matching team and has since assisted the team in making over 200 new matches! As Director of Program Growth, Tina will continue to spearhead new mentoring programs and partnerships within the community while overseeing the agency’s customer relations functions.
Tina holds a Bachelor’s of the Arts and an Associate’s in business. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue a full-time career in human services. Tina began her career in 2010 working for People Incorporated, first as a case manager in their adult day program, and later directing an accredited summer camp for children with Type 1 Diabetes. Tina also led support groups for families and children within the agency and advocated at local schools.
Tina has always enjoyed giving back and has volunteered for an over-flow shelter, attended mission trips to West Virginia, and volunteered for a youth program in New York City. She currently lives in Warren with her husband Thiago and 2 year old daughter Viviana; they will welcome their second child to the family in December!
